Tin oxide is an attractive material as a potential substitute for the conventional graphite anode in lithium-ion batteries, because the theoretical capacity of SnO2(783 mAhg-1) has been estimated to be superior to that of graphite (372mAhg-1). However, the practical use of SnO2 powders is hindered by several major problems such as poor cycleabilty, resulting from the severe volume expansion and contraction. Generally, antimony doped tin oxide(ATO) is a typical p-type semiconductor and used widely due to its good properties such as electrical conductivity and transparency in visible range. Currently, energy device is devoted to developing advanced materials to substitute for the graphite anodes in lithium ion batteries. In this study, we studied that the effect of crystalized ATO ceramics as lithium ion batteries for anode. The ATO particles were synthesized by conventional sol-gel method. After synthesis process, the products were heated at 1000℃ and were characterized by impedance, capacity to test electrochemical properties. |
