제목 Hyaluronic Acid Hydrogels Encapsulating Bio-Coral® As A Novel Artificial Bone Substitute
초록 A novel artificial bone substitute for guided bone regeneration was successfully developed using hyaluronic acid (HA) hydrogels encapsulating calcium carbonate (Bio-Coral®). To control the in vivo degradation rate, HA was chemically modified by grafting adipic acid dihydrazide (ADH) to the carboxyl group of HA. Calcium carbonate was in situ encapsulated into the HA-ADH hydrogel during the crosslinking reaction of HA-ADH with bis(sulfosuccinimidyl) suberate (BS3). The resulting hydrogel contained uniformly dispersed calcium carbonate and showed excellent mechanical properties. In vivo test of bone regeneration in rabbit was performed for six months and will be discussed in detail.
