제목 Confinement Effect of Nano-hybrids Thin Films on the Dielectric Relaxation Characteristics
초록 The dielectric properties of nano-hybrids composed of methylsilsesquioxane(MSSQ) and 8-arm star shaped polymer(porogen) have been investigated at different temperature and frequency by dielectric relaxation measurement(HP 4194A LCR meter). The parameters monitored by dielectric relaxation method are dielectric constants for the alignment of molecular dipoles and loss factor(tan δ) for the energy needed to align the dipoles. Porogen contents in nano-hybrids varied up to 30 wt%. The dielectric properties of the pure porogen and MSSQ/porogen hybrids were studied frequency ranged from 10 kHz to 1MHz at temperature from -200 to 200 ℃.
In this study, it was found that the confinement by fixed wall in nano-sized pores should disturb molecular motions, which shifted glass transition temperature to higher region. The change of glass transition temperature depends on end group functionality in both MSSQ and porogen, and size distribution of porogen.
