Antimicrobial property of polyvinyl alcohol-based coating film incorporated with flavonoids |
초록 |
Antimicrobial property of water soluble poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) based coating film was studied by incorporating antibacterial flavonoids. Further cellulose nanofiber (CNF) was added to enhance not only the mechanical strength but also water vapor permeability of the film by providing water vapor channel through the film which facilitates faster migration of the flavonoid toward the surface. The coating film stability was improved by crosslinking using a citric acid, which was confirmed by FT-IR, water contact angles, and swelling degrees. Antibacterial activities of the film against Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli were revealed even after storage at high humidity environments for one month. These results indicated that the flavonoid was safely stored without degradation and continuously released from the film through the cross-linked matrix. |
