The Effects of Different Types of Peroxides on the Properties of WGRT/WPP Composite Prepared by a Modular Intermeshing Co-rotating Twin Screw Extruder |

Thermoplastic vulcanizates (TPVs) are a special class of thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) that contains a cross-linked rubber phase dispersed within a thermoplastic polymer phase. In this study, we used waste ground rubber tire (WGRT) and waste polypropylene (WPP) in order to simulate the TPVs for the cost reduction and resources recylcling. Also, Influences of various types of peroxides on the properties of WGRT/WPP composites were investigated. WGRT/WPP composites with different types and contents of peroxides were prepared by a modular intermeshing co-rotating twin screw extruder. The mechanical, thermal and morphological properties of these TPVs were characterized by using universal testing machine (UTM), dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). |
