Binuclear metallacycles, [(p-cyeme)2Rh2(m-poip)2] (1), [Cp*2Ir2(m-poip)2] (2) and [Cp*2Rh2(m-poip)2] (3) (m-POiPH2 = 5-(pyridine-3-yloxy)isophthalic acid ) are sucessfulluy synthesized by C-H activation directed assembly of m-POiPH2 with [(p‐cymene)Ru(OAc)2, [Cp*Rh(OAc)2] (Cp* = η5‐C5Me5) and [Cp*Ir(OAc)2], respectively. Crystal structures of 1, 2, and 3 are confirmed by single crystal X‐ray diffractions (SC‐XRD). The solid-state structures show binuclear metallocyclophanes constructed by cyclometallation through ortho‐C–H activation and coordination of N‐donor with metals; each metallocyclophanes shows unique packing structure by intermolecular hydrogen bonding. 1 shows two-dimensional sheet, while 2 and 3 show 1D linear chain networks. |
