제목 Development of a hybrid polymer-silica nanotube as an efficient gene carrier
초록 Silica nanotube (SNT) is considered a promising material in biomedical application due to its unique structure. The tube-structured SNTs have two physically distinct domains (inner void and outer surfaces) and can be exploited by functionalizing both the faces separately as per requirements. In this research, we modified a SNT with cationic low molecular weight polyethylenimine and inorganic nanoparticles (iron oxide nanoparticles, quantum dots) separately to utilize it as an efficient gene delivery carrier as well as an imaging agent. It would easily load pDNA and transport the cargo into the cells. Additionally it could be used in tandem for imaging the SNT-internalized cell by magnetic resonance (MR) imaging as well as for monitoring intracellular movement of SNT by fluorescence.
