제목 Development of Contrast Agents for The Selective Labeling for Cancerous Lesions using A Hydrogel-based Nanoemulsions
초록 In this study, we developed a novel hydrogel-based nano-emulsions containing methylene blue, a staining agent that can selectively label carcinomatous or dysplastic lesions. Hyaluronic acid is known to interact with CD44 which is overexpressed to many different types of cancers. Therefore, the hyaluronic acid was used to improve the targeting efficiency of cancer cells. Nanoparticles less than 100 nm in size were successfully prepared by the high-energy W/O (water-in-oil) emulsification method followed filtering. The inner-structure of nano-emulsions entrapped with the staining agent comprised interpenetrating polymer networks (IPN) and the morphologies of nanoemulsion confirmed by DLS and SEM showed high thermodynamic stability for a long time (> one months). Furthermore, selective staining of cancer cells showed that nano emulsions have target property of cancer cells. Our promising results in this study present our nanoemulsions can be used as cancer-staining agents.
