With the development of the plastic industry, plastic has become the most common material used for packaging containers and films. In general, it is not difficult to recycle a single material of plastic. However, in the case of mixed plastics, since the chemical structures of the mixed plastics are different from each other, phase separation between the polymers occurs during mixing, which causes a sharp decrease in mechanical properties. So, research on various types of polymer blends and compatibilizers for plastic recycling has been actively pursued recently. In this study, a compatibilizers was prepared using maleic anhydride (MA) and dicumyl peroxide (DCP) to increase the mixability of waste plastics. The mechanical strength was then measured to investigate the mixability according to the MA content and compared to the commercialized non-added waste plastic. |
