Polyamide 6 (PA6) is one of the widely used engineering polymers in industries because of their excellent mechanical properties and price. In many researches numerous chain extenders have been described for commercial PA6 which is polymerized from condensation polymerization of aminoic acid. But, there have been rarely reported that chain extending of PA6 which is polymerized from anionic ring-opening polymerization(ROP), due to the difference between typical hydrolytic PA6 and anionic ROP PA6 on functional end groups. So it is necessary that another bifunctional chain extenders which can react with caprolactamate end groups of PA 6. In this research, we successfully produced enhanced PA6 by reactive extrusion, applying biscaprolactam as activator and diamine as chain extender. We find the increase of molecular weight of PA6 and we performed rheological experiments to find the structure of modified PA 6. |
