제목 | Morphological development of the polymer interface in the effect of electric field with compatibilizer |
초록 | Electric fields were used to enhance thermal fluctuations at the interface between two thin liquids films liquid/air films. Electrically induced instability can be used to control the size of morphology. For instance, hexagonally-packed structure with well-defined wavelength was generated from liquid/air and immscible liqud/liqud thin films if electric field was applied to the system. In this study, we applied the electric field to reactive blend systems of carboxylic acid end-functional PS (PS-mCOOH) and poly(methyl methacrylates) (PMMA) with various amounts of an in-situ compatibilizer of poly(methyl methacrylates-ran-glycidyl methacrylate) (PMMA-GMA). Each polymer layer was spin-coated from solution onto silicon wafer which plays as one of the electrodes (lower electrode). We could control the size scale of pillar down to submicron by controlling the amount of the in-situ compatibilizer and thickness. The surface morphology was investigated by using atomic force microscope(AFM), optical microscope(OM) and scanning electron microscope(SEM).
