A Facile Synthesis of Polythiophene Nanoparticles with Various Reaction Temperaturesin Aqueous Medium |

Polythiophene (PT) was prepared via Fe3+-catalyzed oxidative polymerization in aqueous medium. Poly(styrene sulfonic acid) was used for particle formation and stability of dispersion. Especially, PT was investigated the effects of reaction temperature with initial reaction rate and other properties by controlling the temperature from 30 to 70℃. The average particle sizes of the PT nanoparticles can be changed with controlled reaction temperature. Particle size was analyzed by dynamic light scattering (DLS). Morphology was observed by scanning electron microscope (SEM) and transmission electron microscope (TEM). The thermal property was measured by thermogravimetric analyzer (TGA) according to changes in the length of PT chain. Also, PT-based transparent conducting films were fabricated by a spin coating and annealing technique. Electrical and optical properties were adjusted by the reaction temperature and proved by 4-point probe method and photoluminescence(PL) spectroscopy. |
