Soluble diketopyrrolopyrrole (DPP) derivatives are known to be having exceptional optoelectrical properties and hence are good materials for various low cost, efficient organic electronic devices. In this regard, a series of DPP based small organic materials have been prepared. The structural, optical and electrochemical properties of these synthesized materials have been investigated by NMR, HRMS, UV-Vis absorption, fluorescence, and cyclic voltammetry. Solution processable organic field effect transistors (OFETs) have been fabricated using these DPP derivatives as a semiconducting channel and cross linked poly (4-vinylphenol) (PVP) as a polymer gate dielectric. OFET performance of these fabricated devices has been measured and analyzed. In addition, organic phototransistor properties have also been studied using one of these synthesized molecules (carbazole endcapped DPP derivative) as a semiconducting material. |
