Li2TiO3 is a technologically important material with many applications. For example, it has been used as an electrode material in lithium-ion batteries, as a double layer cathode material in molten carbonate fuel cells, and as a solid breeder material in the blanket of fusion reactors. Li2TiO3 has attracted many researchers due to its distinguished properties as one of the most promising solid breeding materials in the blanket of future nuclear fusion reactor. It shows good chemical stability in air and acceptable mechanical strength, and displays compatibility with other structural components, adequate irradiation behavior, and low activation and excellent tritium release characteristics at lower temperatures. In this study, Li2TiO3 powders were prepared by the hydrothermal method with TiO2 and LiOH. Amorphous TiO2 and crystaline TiO2 were used on a precursor. The phase presence and surface morphology were characterized by XRD and SEM. |
