제목 | Fiber-shaped organic artificial synapse based on the ferroelectric organic transistor for wearable neuromorphic applications |
초록 | A wearable neuromorphic electronic system, that can learn and interpret the non-structural biometric information at extremely low-power, has been brought great attention because of its applicability as the intelligent device that can easily attach onto the human body or any rough surface [1-3]. With this reason, organic-based artificial synaptic devices have been proposed as a potential candidate for wearable neuromorphic applications due to its inherent mechanical flexibility and the material (or device form) variability for the desired functionalities [2.3]. In this study, we designed and fabricated a fiber-shaped artificial synapse implemented by substrate-free organic ferroelectric transistors on a thin Ag wire (100 m diameter) [4]. The fiber-shaped device can be easily coiled or bended on various forms of tubes and operated well under the tangled conditions without severe switching degradation. Furthermore, they exhibited excellent and reliable synaptic functionalities such as the synaptic plasticity depending on the input pulses even under the severe bending condition. We fabricated the wearable textile 6 × 12 array structure based on the fiber-shaped synapses like a NOR-type synaptic array for artificial neural network (ANN). We demonstrated from the back-propagation learning algorithm that this array can have ~90 and ~70 % recognition accuracy for each MINST digit and ECG patterns, respectively.
