제목 Preparation of PMMA encapsulated nano sized SiO2 by Dispersion Polymerization in Supercritical Carbon Dioxide
초록 Supercritical carbon dioxide (scCO2) has been used as an alternative green solvent with rapidly becoming an attractive solvent for polymer synthesis and processing because it is non-toxic, non-flammable, inexpensive, recyclable, and environmentally friendly. In this study, we prepared nano sized SiO2 particles and PMMA encapsulated SiO2 by dispersion polymerization in supercritical carbon dioxide. SiO2 nano particles were modified with 3-(trimethoxysilyl) propyl methacrylate (γ-MPS) as silane coupling agent. The nanocomposites of SiO2/PMMA were characterized by IR, SEM, and TEM.
