Considering the endocrine disruption effect of phthalates, regulations are being strengthened and alternative plasticizers have been developed and used. In the manufacture of plastic products, two or more plasticizers are generally used simultaneously. Until now, there is one report shown the migration rate of DiNP was increased when it was mixed with more soluble phthalate, however, studies of the plasticizers’ emission rates considering their combinations are scarce. In this study, we selected four plasticizers, DBP, BBP, DEHA, and DINCH, in consideration of Log Kow and molecular structures. PVC sheets were manufactured with binary mixtures of plasticizers mixed at 25wt% of each compound. As results, the mixture effect to a migration rate of each plasticizer was observed. Further studies need to be conducted to understand the mixture effect which can be caused by more various combinations of semi-volatile organic compounds in different matrices.
