Mesenchymal stem cells derived from human bone marrow provide cell source applicable for tissue engineering and cell therapy. Differential factors for hMSCs have the interrelation toward the invasiveness and metastatic property. Therefore, the development of efficient cell coculture platforms are required to comprehend osteogenic differentiation of hMSC. As a useful platform for cell coculture, the nano membrane that is transparent, nanoporous, and transferable (TNT membrane) has been designed with polymer. TNT membranes provide easy isolation of each cell line for stacking coculture condition. Also, TNT membranes allow in vivo like cell-cell communication environment to cocultured cells through flat interface provided by the membrane. Cocultures of hMSCs with both metastatic and non-metastatic cancer cells via TNT membrane present interaction of exchangeable signaling factors for property of differentiated cells. |
