Effect of metal loading on the characteristics of Ni-Ce0.6Zr0.4O2 catalysts for deoxygenation of oleic acid |

A series of Ni−Ce0.6Zr0.4O2 catalysts were synthesized by co-precipitation method with different Ni loading amounts for deoxygenation of oleic acid. The physico-chemical properties of the catalysts were characterized by various techniques like N2 adsorption-desorption, XRD, H2-chemisorption, H2-TPR, NH3-TPD. 20 wt.% Ni−Ce0.6Zr0.4O2 catalyst exhibited the highest oleic acid conversion as well as the highest selectivity for diesel-range compounds. This is mainly due to the highest BET surface area and easier reducibility of free NiO species. In addition, the catalyst acidity has significant effects on the catalytic performance. |
