A new plate-type melt crystallizer was invented for the purification of NVP(N-vinyl-2-pyrrolidone). Repeated crystallization and sweating was implemented to improve purify of product. In this study, 2 crystallization cell and 3 cooling plate was used for the production of NVP with ultra-high purity. Effect of cooling rate and sweating time was investigated to find optimum operation sequence. For desired purity (>99.99 wt. %), 2 re-crystallization period was required with 40-minutes of sweating period. |
