제목 Manufacturing of Nucleating Agent and Natural Fiber Composite to Improve the Thermal Stability and Brittleness of PLA
초록 Polylacticacid (PLA) derived from renewable sources is one of the most promisingbiopolymers because of its excellent physical properties and biodegradability. However,there is a limit to its utilization due to disadvantages such as brittlenessand low thermal stability. In this study, a nucleating agent was used toimprove the thermal stability and ductility of natural fiber-reinforced PLAcomposites. The thermal stability of the fabricated composites were observedthrough differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and thermogravimetric analysis(TGA). In addition, tensile strength, elongation at break, Young's modulus andcharpy impact strength were measured for the mechanical properties of thecomposites. It is judged that the natural fiber-reinforced PLA composites towhich the nucleating agent has been applied has improved thermal stability andductility due to the modification.
