In an aqueous environment, hydrophobically modified polymers (HMP) can form nano-sized self-aggregates, with various morphologies including micelle-like structure depending on the degree of substitution and polymer concentration. In this study, HMP composed of poly(2-hydroxyethyl aspartamide) (PHEA) with a poly(amino acid) structure as hydrophilic backbone and dodecyl chain as grafted hydrophobic segments was synthesized and their self-aggregates were prepared in aqueous solution. This study focused on the various self-aggregates behaviors of HMP in aqueous solution according to the degree of substitution and polymer concentration. |
