Preparation of monodisperse graphite microspheres through the carbonization treatment of the monodisperse polyacrylonitrle particles for digital paper |
초록 |
Monodisperse graphite particles were prepared and their feasibility as a core material in a digital paper was investigated. One hundred time of acrylonitrile (AN) based on the weight of polystyrene (PS) particles was swollen into the seed particles during the seeded polymerization (Figure 1(a)). Then the polyAN microspheres were transformed to the graphite microspheres through a carbonization process at 250℃ for 30min (Figure 1(b)). After adsorbing a charge controlling agent (CCA) on the surface, the graphite microspheres were placed on the ITO glass, and another piece of ITO glass was sandwiched as shown in Figure 2. The morphology of microshperes was monitored utilizing an optical and scanning electron microscope, and the carbonization of polyAN particles was confirmed by infrared analysis. The switching times of devices using graphite microspheres were observed depending on the applied potential and cell gap of device.
