제목 | To reduce the voltage drop by Poly vinyl alcohol (PVA) burn-out process in Lithium/Carbon Monofluoride_manganese dioxide hybrid battery |
초록 | Li/CFx primary lithium batteries using sub-fluorinated graphite as cathode materials are of renewed interest due to their inherently high theoretical specific capacity and high energy density as compared to the other primary lithium batteries such as Li/MnO2, Li/SO2, or Li/SOCl2. Li/CFx provides higher capacity (~865mAh/g-1) than Li/MnO2 (~285mAh/g-1) while the raw materials are expensive and considered a low power system. On the contrary, Li/CFx_MnO2 hybrid cathode provides slightly less capacity but less expensive material cost and improved voltage delay, rate capabilities. To fabricate the CFx_MnO2 hybrid cathode, Poly vinyl alcohol(PVA) used to enhance the binding and viscosity properties. However, the PVA as binder have to burn-out to reduce the voltage drop because PVA particle in hybrid cathode can operate resistance during discharge of the Li/CFx_MnO2 battery. In an effort to reduce the voltage drop, we developed PVA burn-out process and the flat potential improve by 11%. In addition to, discharge capacity increased from 352mAh/g to 397 mAh/g. |
