Effect of EBR molecular structure on the morphology and mechanical properties of isotactic polypropene (PP)/ethylene-1-butene copolymers (EBR) blends was investigated by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), UTM, and haze meter. The shrinkage of PP/EBR blends was determined by pressure-volume-temperature measurement. The impact strength and transparency of blends were increased with increasing the 1-butene content in the EBR. By decreasing the intrinsic viscosity of EBR in the blends, transparency was increased but the impact strength was decreased. From the SEM study, it was found that the EBR structure influences on the morphology of heterophasic PP/EBR blends. Effect of LLDPE addition on the mechanical properties of PP/EBR blends was also examined. |
