A ternary polymer solar cells (PSCs) has been demonstrated as a promising method to further boost the performance of organic photovoltaic (OPV) devices. Herein, an efficient donor polymer SiCl-BDT was synthesized and incorporated into a host binary PM7:Y7 system to fabricate ternary PSCs. SiCl-BDT possesses complementary absorption spectra and good compatibility with PM7, which is beneficial to enhance the light harvesting and film morphology of the ternary devices, resulting in simultaneous improved of the short-circuit current density and fill factor. The optimized ternary PSCs with 15 wt% SiCl-BDT in the donors achieve a PCE of 17.09%. In addition, we found that the photovoltaic performance of ternary PSCs can be further developed to a benchmark PCE of 17.40% by employing a highly effective interface engineering strategy. |
