The selective oxidation of 5-hydroxymethylfurfural (HMF) to 2,5-furan dicarboxylic acid (FDCA) has attracted much attention recently, as FDCA could be used as a polymer precursor to produce recyclable bio-based polymers. However, most studies focused on the design of noble metal catalysts for the efficient oxidation of HMF to FDCA, here non-noble metal catalysts, Ce-based catalysts were prepared by a hydrothermal method. The catalyst has high reusability and stability during the reaction process. The catalyst has more catalytic active sites and plays an important role in HMF oxidation reactions without noble metals. Material characterizing was carried out using XRD, RAMAN, SEM, TEM, XPS, BET measurements. |
