Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) have been one of the most attractive objects owing to their unique properties. However, spatial distribution and solubilities of CNTs in matrices are often the key requirements to obtain desirable properties of the CNT composites. In this study, a polystyrene-based functional block copolymer was prepared through controlled/”living” radical polymerization technique and applied to surface modifier for dispersion of multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWCNT). The surface modification of MWCNTs in paste improved the dispersibility of MWCNTs, affording uniform MWCNT coating. The dispersion of MWCNT was improved through ball-milling method. Scanning electron microscopy indicated that the dispersion controlled MWCNT afforded high performance electrodes for photovoltaic devices.
