제목 chitosan-Ag(I) facilitated transport membranes for CO/N2 separation by reversible π-complexation
초록 Carbon monoxide (CO) is an important raw material in chemical industries. In steel industry, A huge amount of CO has been produced as a byproduct (LDG, BFG) containing N2, CO2, CH4, H2 etc. To recover CO from other gases, CO/N2 separation is very important because CO and N2 have similar kinetic diameters and solubility. In this work, a chitosan-based composite membrane containing Ag ions was prepared for the selective separation of CO from N2 via the facilitated transport mechanism. Chitosan membrane containing Ag ions showed excellent CO permeability (P=>22~35.8 GPU) and high CO/N2 selectivity (α=>29.2~37.2). CO separation experiments were performed from CO/N2 mixture gases with various CO compositions (50, 60, 80, 95 mol %). Long-term operation test using mixed gases was performed and showed the long-term stability(~100 h) with >97% CO purity, which confirms the facilitated membranes developed could be used commercially.
