Comparisons of caffeine, theophylline and theobromine adsorption isotherm on C18 column and then the competitive adsorption of the two compounds were investigated. The experimental parameters of the equilibrium isotherms were estimated via linear and nonlinear regression analyses. The adsorption equilibrium data were correlated to the linear, Langmuir, Freundlich, Langmuir-Freundlich and competitive Langmuir isotherm models. The obtained data confirmed that the competitive Langmuir isotherm is more suitable for competitive adsorption. |
