Gold nanocrystals have been widely studied because of their unique properties such as catalytic, optoelectronic, and physicochemical properties. To prepare gold nanocrystals with controlled size and morphology, stabilizer and/or template is important as well as reduction method. Up to now, comb-like polymeric materials as a stabilizer and/or a template for the synthesis of gold nanocrystals are rarely investigated unlike low molecular weight surfactant. Recently, comb-like polymeric materials based on poly(oxyethylene)s have been synthesized in our laboratory via relatively easy synthetic procedure including a polymer analogous reaction. Based on these comb-like polymeric materials, gold nanocrystals with various sizes and morphologies were successfully synthesized. In this talk, details for the preparation of gold nanocrystals using comb-like polymeric materials will be presented. |
