Synthesis and Heavy Metal Ion Adsorptivity of Chelating Resins Containing Sulfuric Acid Groups |
초록 |
In order to improve the affinity for heavy metal ions, an attempt on the novel resin design have been made: the copolymer beads were prepared by the suspension copolymerization of styrene(St) with dibutyl fumalate(DBF) and divinylbenzene(DVB). The sulfonation for carboxylic ester groups existed in the beads was carried out by way of reduction and halogenation, and then followed by the sulfonation for phenyl rings existed in the beads: DBF, dibutyl maleate and itaconic acid were considered as monomers containing carboxylic ester groups. The sulfonation of DBF component was very effective due to relatively less steric hinderance. The sulfonated beads were neutralized to obtain a good swelling property. Accordingly, the structural effects of the resins on the adsorption of heavy metal ions were investigated. As the results, poly(St-co-DBF-co-DVB)-based chelating resins containing sulfuric acid groups showed good adsorption toward heavy metal ions like Pb2+, Ni2+, Cr2+, Cd2+ and Co2+, and poor adsorption toward heavy metal ions like Hg2+ and Cu2+: a synergistic effect was observed in the adsorption of heavy metal ions like Pb2+, Ni2+ and Cr2+. |
