Natural gas (NG) has received great attention as an alternative energy due to its low cost and relatively clean compared with conventional fossil fuels. However, NG requires a special storage system owing to its low volumetric energy density. In this work, methane adsorption has been studied with activated carbon monolith (ACM) made from anthracite. Adsorption equilibrium isotherms of methane on the ACM were measured at three temperatures of 298, 308 and 318 K and at pressures ranging from 0 to 30 atm in a volumetric adsorption apparatus. Experimental isotherm data were analyzed using well-known Langmuir, Sips and Toth equations. |
