제목 Abnormal Thermal Expansion Behavior of Sol-Gel Derived Oligosiloxane Based Epoxy Hybrid Materials
초록 Sol-gel derived epoxy hybrid material (epoxy hybrimer) is synthesized by polymerization of epoxy-oligosiloxanes, which is synthesized by sol-gel reaction of (3-glycidoxypropyl)trimethoxysilane, with addition of hardeners such as bisphenol-A novolac (BN). The epoxy hybrimer is optically transparent and electrically resistant with high thermal decomposition temperature to be used as the optical coating and the electric insulation. Also, it shows no distinct glass transition but high linear thermal expansion coefficient (>100 ppm/K) in contrary to common expectation. Thus, thermal expansion of the epoxy hybrimers was measured using a dilatometer depending on the compositions of epoxy-oligosiloxanes and added hardener and compared with conventional epoxy polymers. It is found that the epoxy hybrimer shows abnormal thermal expansion behavior which shows no abrupt change of thermal expansion, i.e. almost Tg-less.
