제목 | pH-Responsive Injectable Tough Tissue Adhesive through Bacterial Cellulose Nanofibril Reinforcement |
초록 | Thisstudy introduces a mechanically reinforced mussel-mimetic skin tissue sealingsystem in which a composite hydrogel bioadhesive consisting of bacterialcellulose nanofibers (BCNFs) and boronic acid-conjugated alginate (Al-BA) wasemployed. Boronic acid has a cis-diol moiety that exhibits pH-responsive curingfrom a viscoelastic solution to a soft gel under physiological conditions.However, Al-BA itself has a limitation to tissue suturing due to formation ofintrinsic soft gel phase. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a technology toreinforce the gel phase which has suitable adhesion strength for tissuesealant. For this, we conjugated 3-aminophenylboronic acid onto an alginatebackbone via EDC/NHS-mediated reaction, and then hybridized withBCNFs. Finally, we demonstrated that our bioadhesives exhibited effective skintissue sealing even under wet conditions, thus promising a variety ofbiological applications in the field of tissue engineering. |
