제목 | Nanoporous Nickel Phosphide Cathode for Proton Exchange Membrane Water Elctrolyzer |
초록 | hydrogen is the most attracting material as an alternative energy source in near future. Electrolysis of water has been considered as one of the convenient ways to produce hydrogen with environmental-friendly characteristic. Proton exchange membrane water electrolyzer (PEMWE) has been extensively studied, however huge use of noble metal catalyst hinders commercialization of PEMWE. In this study, Ni-NiP was prepared on gas diffusion layer by using electrodeposition. In order to dissolve excessive Ni metal in Ni-NiP electrodeposit, the electrochemical leaching process was applied controlling potential and time. After the optimization of leaching conditions, most of Ni metal was dissolved, resulting that its acid resistance was improved as well as electrochemical surface area was enlarged. Finally, the nanoporous NiP electrode was used as a gas diffusion cathode for PEMWE which showed current density of 1.4 A/cm2 at 2.0 Vcell. |
