제목 Preparation and characterization of silicon carbide ceramic from rice husks 
초록 In this study, the silicon carbide (SiC) has been produced from the thermal decomposition of rice husks as the precursor and heat treatments at temperature varying from 1300 to 1600oC. The samples were prepared according to the C/SiO ratio of the rice husks treated with acid or base. The produced samples were characterized by various analytical techniques, such as Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS). SEM analysis shows how the morphology of the product changes with change in temperature as well as with the C/SiO ratio. Maximum whiskers formation can be observed from the sample of various concentration of Fe treated at 1400°C. Then, the samples with whiskers shape is gradually changed to spherical shape at 1500oC or more.
