제목 | Gallium nitride based reflective structural colour printing |
초록 | GaN is a low-k material with a band gap of about 3.4eV and no interband transition over the entire visible spectrum, therefore excluding any losses from the required wavelengths. Subsequently, GaN based electronics have the potential to drastically cut energy consumption. Mie resonances, the combination of the electric and magnetic responses in structures much smaller than the wavelength of light, are exploited by engineering the dimensions and periodicity of the GaN rod structures. We show that a full range of spectral colours can be achieved with a large gamut in reflection mode, by varying the periodicity and filling factor of the GaN scatterer. Here, we demonstrate high reflectivity over the whole region of optical wavelengths. The reflected wavelength is red shifted by increasing the periodicity of the structures, with a reflection peak of over 0.75. The saturation of the colour can be simultaneously controlled by adjusting the filling factor of the nanorod. |
