As solution-processible PPS was successfully made through partial sulfonation of poly(phenylene sulfide) (PPS) in our lab, now we can make ultrathin films composed of several kinds of PPS/other polymer blend through spin coating method for electronic application. The electrical conductivity of partially sulfonated PPS (sPPS) doped with AlCl3, FeCl3, and TaF5 using various solvents has been studied as a function of dopant concentration and sPPS composition. The conductivity was found to increase highly by using a specific doping media and to increase with the dopant concentration and sPPS composition in the blend. The IR and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy of doped sPPS blend system were utilized in order to investigate miscibility and the conductivity mechanism in doped sPPS blend system.
