제목 Effect of Carbonaceous fillers on Dynamic mechanical properties of chlorobutyl vulcanizates
초록 The effect of various types of carbon based fillers like carbon black, carbon silica dual phase filler(CSDPF) and vapor grown carbon nano fibers(VGCNF) on the nonlinear visco-elastic properties of Chlorobutyl vulcanizates has been studied as a function of temperature (- 60C to + 100C ) and strain (0.07% to 5%). Irrespective of the type of filler used all the composites showed the glass transition temperature in the range of –29 to –33C which has been explained on the basis of relaxation dynamics of polyisobutylene chains in the vicinity of fillers. The effect of variation in dynamic properties with dynamic strain amplitude has also been studied. The non-linearity in loss tangent and storage modulus has been explained based on the concept of filler-polymer interaction and the inter-aggregate attraction (filler networking) of various fillers.
