Polyurethane(PU) has a fifth most common consumer market following the PP, PE, PVC, PS and then it has the most consumer markets in the thermosetting resin. In particular, PU has excellent hardness and heat resistance, the limelight as a material of electronics products and parts of the automotive, and then it was enabled to a products of various physical properties like rigid and flexible foams, films, and fibers. However, polar polymer PU is limited for use as an impact modifier of non-polar polymers that there is vulnerable disadvantages of combustion resistance and impact resistance. Therefore, in this study, we used gamma irradiation at 25, 50 kGy and then it was introducing the styrene of hydrophobic monomer on the PU to used as an impact modifier of the non-polar polymer. Further, it proved whether the introduction of the styrene through the FTIR and TGA analysis. It has confirmed the possibility of the application of high-functional composite by radiation-based technique. |
