제목 NiZn alloy/reduced graphene oxide nanohybrid used as a Pt-free counter electrode in liquid-junction photovoltaic device
초록 Pt is well known to be an efficient catalyst for counter electrode (CE) in dye-sensitized solar cells (DSCs). However, it is a rare resource and the most expensive materials, therefore it becomes a disadvantage for large scale applications. This work presents the synthesis of NiZn alloy/reduced graphene oxide (RGO) using atmospheric pressure plasma under near room temperature and without using any toxic reagents. HRSEM, TEM, XRD and XPS measurements are used to analyze the morphology and chemical composition of the developed materials. Then, the developed materials are applied as Pt-free CEs in DSCs. To obtain efficient CEs, the chemical composition of the NixZn1-x/RGO (0 ≤ x ≤ 1) is controlled through optimizing the volume ratio of the Ni and Zn precursors during the synthesizing process. The electrochemical catalytic activity of the developed CEs is carefully evaluated through EIS, CV and Tafel measurements. Finally, the effect of CEs on the efficiency of DSCs is further confirmed by J-V and IPCE performances. The developed CEs showed both high conductivity and high catalytic activity to regenerate iodides from triiodide ions.
