The goal of this research is (1) first, the successful homopolymerization of n-butyl acrylate(n-BA) with controlled molecular weight and low polydispersities via ATRP (2) second, block copolymerization with tert-butyl acrylate(t-BA) via ATRP, followed by selective acidolysis of the PtBA block, and finally evaluated their ability of aggregates and stability in aqueous medium. FT-IR, 1H-NMR spectroscopies, and gel permeation chromatography were used to characterize their structures, polymerization kinetics, and determine polymer molecular weight and polydispersities. |
