Effect of organically-modified montmorillonite on the preparation and properties of microporous polymer electrolyte membranes |
초록 |
A simple phase inversion technique was used to prepare novel microporous polymer electrolyte membranes using organophilic montmorillonites at low filler loadings. Montmorillonite was modified using quaternary ammonium salts, amino acids, and primary aliphatic amines. Addition of PEO rendered porosity to the PVDF membranes prepared by the successive evaporation of solvent (dimethylformamide) and non-solvent (glycerol). Good dispersion of the organophilic clay improved the over-all performance as compared to filler-free membranes and produced novel microporous membranes with the potential to be used as electrolyte materials for rechargeable batteries. |
