Being carbon neutral and renewable, biomass-derived plastics are increasingly receiving world-wide attention. Among them, PLA is prevailing in the bioplastics market and widely used for biodegradable packaging materials. However, due to its poor thermal and mechanical properties, PLA has been finding its applications only to limited items such as disposable items. Alloy technology of PLA with engineering plastics can mask the defects of PLA by enhancing durability and mechanical properties. Moreover, our crystallization technology has greatly reduced the cycling time, which has been the major obstacle to large scale production of PLA injection-molded articles. |
