Commonly used in many real life processes and industrial applications are system identifications by first order process that includes a time delay. This may seem sufficient in many cases for designing controllers in industrial applications with simple straight forward processes, but not all processes actually behave in First Order Plus Time Delay (FOPTD) manner. It is actually very difficult to find a process with single system input and output, but rather easy to find processes with multiple processes combined and interlaced together. For better understanding of such system's true behavior and a more thorough control, fractional resolution of order can be applied instead of first order or even higher order system indentification models. Thus this study introduces fractional order plus time delay model for system identification and PID control tuning. The fractional order transfer function is referenced by Half Order Plus Time Delay Model where the power of the denominator of the transfer function can be represented as fractional order. |
