Synthesis and characterization of bioreducible PEG-PBLA2 miktoarm copolymer for anticancer drug delivery |

Self-assembled nanoparticles from amphiphilic copolymers have shown excellent performance as nanocarrier for drug delivery. Recently, new classes of star-shaped polymers where any number of various types of polymer arms emanate from a core, so-called miktoarm polymers, have attracted much attention for self-assembling nano-structure formation and their potential applications in drug delivery. In particular, amphiphilic AB2 miktoarm copolymers that mimic structural characteristics of phospholipid, have a unique self-assembling properties in aqueous media. In this study, we synthesized a bioreducible PEG-PBLA2 miktoarm copolymers consisting of hydrophilic poly(ethylene glycol) block and hydrophobic poly(β-benzyl L-aspartate) block and their self-assembling and bioreducible properties were observed for drug delivery application. |
