제목 | Mineral carbonation using Oyster shell Powder for synthesis of high-purity Precipitated Calcium Carbonate |
초록 | Recently, many studies have been conducted on the mineral carbonation using industrial waste that can permanently store carbon dioxide as well as economically treat waste. Oyster shells, one of the industrial wastes, have caused problems such as odor, water pollution and damage to the landscape. In this study, we have demonstrated the possibility of synthesizing high-purity precipitated calcium carbonate (PCC) using oyster shell powder. Acetic acid was used as solvent for extracting Ca2+ from the Oyster shell powder. The prepared Ca2+-rich ionic solution was carbonated with CO2 according to the various conditions such as reaction time, CO2 flow rate and stirrer speed. The state of final products such as purity,particle size, carbonation yield was characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD),X-ray fluorescence (XRF) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). |
