Improvement of physical properties of silane-modified waterborne polyurethane using controlled silica content |
초록 |
The waterborne polyurethane modified with silane coupling agent (silane-modified WPU) was synthesized using polyester diol, isophorone diisocyanate, dimethylolpropionic acid, and 3-aminopropyl trimethoxysilane. Silane-modified WPU/silica composites were prepared through a sol-gel process according to the silica content. The Si-O-Si bonding structure of silane-modified WPU/silica composites was confirmed by FT-IR. The effects of silica content on tensile properties and pencil hardness of silane-modified WPU/silica composites were investigated. Thermal properties were measured using thermogravimetric analysis and differential scanning calorimetry. As a result, as the silica content increased, the tensile strength, pencil hardness and heat resistance of the composites increased due to the improvement of the crosslinking density. |
