제목 | Low temperature NO adsorption over hydrothermally aged Pd/CeO2 for cold start application |
초록 | The elimination of NOx from diesel exhaust is considered as a great challenge, since NOx is unable to reduce efficiently with conventional Three-Way-Catalysts (TWC) because of excess oxygen condition. Although NOx reduction catalysts such as NOx Storage Reduction (NSR) and Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) are being improved and used, the NOx can be removed at only high temperature (above 200 °C). As the emission regulation on NOx becomes more intensified, the removal of NOx at low temperature, in other words, during cold start is getting more essential. Previous literature data show that Ceria can adsorb NOx at moderate temperature. Hence, PGM supported Ce catalysts have possibility to be used as a cold start catalyst which can adsorb NOx at low temperature and release them at higher temperature, where NOx reduction catalyst operates. In this work, we aimed at investigating several PGM/CeO2 catalysts in terms of the NOx adsorption/desorption behaviour and the role of PGM and supports by using the combination of NOx adsorption/desorption measurements and DRIFT experiments, which are of importance to develop novel cold start catalyst. |
